Jet Lag

I am stuffed and starving at the same time. I am fully awake and fully exhausted at the same time. Lovely.

Thunda down Unda

I have been having a wonderful time in Australia! What a fantastic place! The biggest drama thus far has been my trip to the hospital. I have recounted it so many times already, I thought it might be best to put it down in the blog once and for all be done with it.

Picture this, Thursday, partly cloudy. I take a nap. I wake up to go pee. I get dizzy. I wake up moaning on the floor with my pants around my knees. I'd blacked out and hit my head on the floor, which knocked me out. I crawl back to bed and start sweating. I can't focus my eyes. I am too dizzy to stand up. An hour later I am too dizzy to sit up. Concerned friends call doctor. Concerned doctor calls ambulance. Ambulance takes me to hospital which is really fun because:
a. it is an Aussie ambulance.
b. I get oxygen bar quality oxygen for free.
c. the EMT says they'll send the $800 bill to the Australian apartment which will not be able to find me in the USA.

At ER, I get a cute Aussie hospital gown and wait. I am poked and proded and told I most likely have Cindy disease (aka- Vasil Vagel) or I have epilepsy (a much more distressing possibility yet to be checked out or even entertained as a possibility). Since then my face has morphed into a digusting swollen nugget and my left eye has shrunk and turned lovely shades of bruise. Pluses:
a. Aussie blokes give me props for my pub fighting skills.
b. people move out of my way.
c. I know my way around the Pharmacy.

minuses:
a. I am exhausted.
b. My head feels like I got hit by a frying pan.
c. I am still a little dizzy. (Don't tell anyone)

So, there you have it. My wonderful dud of an emergency with a yet to be seen bill on its way to America (?) which will be an object of much debate with my brand new heath insurance. No worries.

Oz

Tomorrow I am flying to Denver. Tomorrow I am leaving Denver. Tomorrow I am flying from Denver to LA. Tomorrow I am leaving LA. Tomorrow I am flying from LA to Melbourne, Australia. I will never see Tuesday, and I get there on Wednesday morning. Just thinking about it makes me tired. I am sure it will be worth it once I get there, but, oye, lots of hours in a plane.
