Cozy times

I am having a wonderful wonderful day. I just got home from the South on Thursday night, and today I went about moving my life back into my refrigerated apartment here in Uptown. I've done laundry all day. I've put gifts in their new homes---new sheets on the bed, coffee grinder in the kitchen, etc. All the Christmas decorations are down and all my bills are payed. My desk is clear of clutter and I sit typing with a warm cup of coffee, a candle going to ward off the cold, and Nick Drake playing on the i-pod. I am happy. I practiced yesterday for hours and hours, my baby is on her way here on Saturday, and all is right with the world. Thank God for times like this. I hope I will always be able to sit back in moments like this and just be appreciative of all of life's blessings.

Charleston, SC

It is January and I am in shorts and I can look out the window and see Spanish Moss and Palm Trees. If the wind blows the right way I can smell the ocean. I can drive to said ocean in 15 minutes. The girl I love is here. I have always wanted to live part of my life by the ocean. It is sweet to realize that once I get my DMA I can come down here and be tan and sweaty and loved on all the time.

Other Charleston Pluses:
-Perpetual Gretchen
-Black People...real ones.
-The Battery, the Harbor and all the Old South charm
-Zaxby's AND Chik-fil-a
-Close proximity to family and friends
-CHEAPNESS
-Major probability of flute work due to there being, like, 4 other 'professionals' in the city
-Hilton Head on weekends
-Low occurance of outrageously obtuse rednecks...they hate salt water 'cause its right hard ta drank.
-Grits... I rarely eat them, but it is nice to know that they're there.
- and the piece de resistance..... PIGGLY-WIGGLY.
